Position Overview

Veraxx Engineering Corporation, a By Light Company is an engineering services company supplying modeling, simulation, and training solutions. Services include hardware, software, and system engineering, requirements assessments, system development, integration, testing, documentation, and customer support services. Veraxx has a high level of expertise in flight simulation hardware and software development, as well as computer architecture, tactical environments, interoperability (HLA/DIS), avionics systems, and real-time embedded systems. Veraxx is the OEM for the Marine Corps aircrew flight simulation interoperability network and tactical environments. Veraxx has just won several long-term contracts to develop and upgrade domestic and international flight and aircrew training systems.

Responsibilities

  • Innovative self-starter with strong hardware skills.
  • Analysis, design, documentation, hardware/software integration and testing of hardware components and assemblies.
  • Candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of flight simulators and develop/integrate hardware in areas such as avionics, cockpits, interfaces to audio, visual, motion, and I/O systems, and Instructor Operator Stations (IOS).

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • BS/MS Electrical Engineering and 0-5 years hardware design and integration experience
  • AutoCAD LT
  • Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Hardware Engineering Concepts & Processes
  • Systems Integration

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

Several or more of the following:

  • Avionics interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC-429
  • Commercial interfaces such as RS-232/422, Ethernet, Discrete I/O and Analog I/O
  • AC and DC power distribution
  • Analog and Digital video interfaces
  • MIL Spec and commercial cable design
  • Lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering irons
  • Knowledge of military aircraft systems and avionics
