Position Overview

ACS is seeking a web application tester to support Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Services workflow-based web application to test data and procedures for ensuring the software product meets organization standards and end-user requirements. Familiar with the software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies Employing both automated and manual tools for testing and collaborating with developers and designers to address issues and variances to the product requirements. Strong ability to multitask and ability to switch between testing various systems quickly.

 

This role is remote but must be within the Northern Virginia area to meet with the development/testing team when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manual testing of integrations, interfaces, data transfers, APIs (Application Protocol Interfaces).
  • End-to-end software Testing Life Cycle from testing, defect logging, and verification of closure of defects, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Functional Testing (System, Regression, and User Acceptance).
  • Database Testing using SQL queries, and simple scripts.
  • Creating Test Plans, Test Cases, executing Test Scripts, Data Verification, and Validation.
  • Thorough understanding of integration requirements and mapping to user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
  • Using JIRA for maintaining sprint test artifacts.
  • Proactively communicate and coordinate with various internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Well versed in the use of Microsoft Teams.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The candidate must also possess effective communication, analytical, and writing skills. A proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment is also desired
  • Analytical and investigation skills, Willingness to learn, and ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience in Manual, Integration, and Functional
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical-related discipline
  • Excellent communication & analytical and investigation skills
  • Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools and software, such as JAWS and NVDA
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies
  • Integration & Interface Testing experience
  • Well-versed in Agile Methodology 
  • Competent in utilizing HTML for web application testing and SQL for database interaction

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Understanding of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and other relevant accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive strategies.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies and their impact on accessibility.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
