Company Overview

American Communications Services LLC is leading Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) system for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Position Overview

American Communication Systems (ACS) is seeking a UX Project Manager with working knowledge of Single Sign-On (SSO), and user experience design principles to support the VA’s Next Generation SSO modernization effort. This role bridges user experience, identity workflows, and project delivery, ensuring that authentication journeys, onboarding flows, and application integration processes are intuitive, compliant, and aligned with Zero Trust principles.

The VA’s SSO modernization effort impacts millions of users - veterans, caregivers, clinicians, and staff. This role ensures that authentication and onboarding experiences are simple, accessible, secure, and aligned with Zero Trust, while accelerating the migration of legacy applications to modern identity platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX‑focused project management for SSO modernization, ensuring user flows, onboarding experiences, and authentication journeys are optimized and consistent.
  • Partner with VA stakeholders, product owners, and technical leads to translate ICAM requirements into clear UX artifacts (journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, acceptance criteria).
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver UX improvements across Entra ID (SSOi) and Okta (SSOe) integrations.
  • Manage timelines, risks, dependencies, and deliverables for UX‑related SSO initiatives.
  • Ensure UX recommendations align with Zero Trust, NIST 800‑63, and VA ICAM standards.
  • Support change management, communication, and training materials for improved user experience.
  • Provide executive‑ready reporting, dashboards, and briefings on UX progress and SSO adoption metrics.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience with UX processes, including user research, prototyping, usability testing, and journey mapping.
  • Working knowledge of ICAM, SSO, and authentication technologies (Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta, MFA, federation, OAuth/OIDC/SAML).
  • Ability to translate technical identity workflows into intuitive user experiences.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to brief leadership and collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting Agile teams and managing iterative UX deliverables.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience supporting VA, DoD, or other federal agencies.
  • Familiarity with VA SSO, onboarding processes, and application integration patterns.
  • Experience with Figma, Miro, Adobe XD, Jira and Confluence.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
