Overview

By Light is hiring a Cyber Intel Analyst to join our team supporting the JFHQ DODIN Operations Center at Fort Meade. The Intelligence Analyst shall produce and disseminate all-source integrated intelligence to support DoDIN and defensive cyberspace operations (DoDIN/DCO-lnternal Defensive Measures) planning, integration, coordination, and execution. The Intelligence Analyst shall assist in analyzing ongoing threat related activities and information targeting the DoDIN and develop Joint Intelligence Preparation of the Operational Environment (JIPOE) for cyber functional area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all-source analytical support to DoDIN/DCO to include production of cyber related Intelligence Estimates.
  • Produce special reports and assessments related to specific incidents and trends concerning threats to the DoDIN as required.
  • Conduct Indications and Warning (l&W) analysis to assist in predicting potential threats, cyber developments, event or conditions against the DoDIN to allow leaders to proactively confront emerging challenges, leverage opportunities, avoid surprise and produce strategic outcomes favorable to the U.S. or allied interests.
  • Respond to the J2 for threat identification of activity directed against DoD systems.
  • Evaluate international events, all-source and open-source intelligence, and operational information to assist in the assessment of potential impacts to the DoDIN and alert the JFHQ-DoDIN Staff and Leadership to potential network exploitation or attacks.
  • Match potential threat candidates with the J3 identified activity, produce reports and/or briefs, and make intelligence-derived recommendations to the J2/J3 for the defense of the affected network.
  • Assist in editing all reports and report formats for content and clarity as needed in support of J2, JFHQ-DoDIN Phase I and II intelligence reporting.
  • Develop and present in-depth intelligence briefings and presentations concerning nation-state and non-state actor capabilities and activities, specific actor profiles, and incidents affecting DoD communications networks.
  • Assist in the management of daily intelligence reports and bulletins and web sites on the classified networks.
  • Maintain communications as directed with intelligence representatives at JFHQ-DoDIN, USCYBERCOM, Service components, other Combatant Commands, Department of Homeland Security, National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC), NSA, CIA, DIA, Joint Staff J2/JCS, DoDIN service providers, and other organizations as designated.
  • Conduct Cyberspace Intelligence planning activities in support of JFHQ-DoDIN JS (Plans) and J7 (Exercises)

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Must currently possess DOD TS/SCI eligibility
  • 2+ years of overall related experience
  • Knowledge in all source intelligence collection management (SIGINT, HUMINT, MASINT, CI, OSINT, IMINT, GEOINT, and TECHINT)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • This position is a shift work position and could require you to work day shift, afternoons, or overnight as well as the potential for weekends and/or holidays

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Joint Targeting process and common targeting methodologies
  • Knowledge of collection management process
  • Knowledge and experience with the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Ability to provide input in a cross-functional team of senior military and civilian personnel
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of information management tools
  • Ability to use Microsoft office products to create efficiency
