By Light is hiring a Senior Information Security Specialist to join our team providing Information Technology (IT) support services to the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) located at Fort Benning and remote locations Camp Merrill and Camp Rudder. The team will deliver comprehensive, integrated, end-to-end IT Systems Support services to include Network Systems Support, Computer Systems Support, Systems Engineering, Cyber Protection, Business Intelligence, IT Metrics Reporting and Quality Control.

  • Manage and supervise personnel providing Cyber Protection, Assessment, and Authorization Support.
  • Complete and submit reports to the Government such as after-action reports, network outage and failure report, maintenance schedule plans, and other reports as required.
  • Assist the Government with cybersecurity functional support for assessments, authorizations, and documentation of enterprise fielded systems managed by the Fort Benning NEC.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Assist the Government Capability Manager / Information System Owner (ISO) in ensuring that the information systems are configured in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), applicable patches and other cybersecurity requirements.
  • Support the Government in following the DoD cybersecurity policy requirements set forth in DoDI 8500.01, “Cybersecurity,” and DoDI 8510.01, “Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT)” and their successors.
  • Review and ensure that any RMF activities on behalf of the Fort Benning NEC adhere to the operational Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) and Operations Orders that are hosted on the US Army Component Workspace.
  • Provide technical input on Certificate of Networthiness submissions.
  • Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: BS Degree in Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • Experience: 8 years or more of relevant work experience.
  • Supervisory/Managerial Experience: 6-8 years’ experience commensurate with the position requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with government regulations, policies, and limitations within their scope of responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Extensive experience with DoD security hardening, collection and assessment tools (STIGs, ACAS SCAP, Nessus, etc.).
  • Experience with security architectures, firewalls and network access.
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity documentation and system authorization artifacts (System Security Plan, lifecycle documentation, continuous monitoring plan, Security Assessment Plan, Security Assessment Report, Risk Assessment, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Department of Defense 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II (Security+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate - Security Certification).
  • Security Clearance: Secret

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or assigned to the DoD and/or U.S. Army.
  • Communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.
  • ITIL Certification
