By Light is hiring a Senior Network Administrator to join our team providing Information Technology (IT) support services to the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) located at Fort Benning and remote locations Camp Merrill and Camp Rudder. The team will deliver comprehensive, integrated, end-to-end IT Systems Support services to include Network Systems Support, Computer Systems Support, Systems Engineering, Cyber Protection, Business Intelligence, IT Metrics Reporting and Quality Control.

  • Manage and supervise personnel providing Network Systems Support.
  • Complete and submit reports to the Government such as after-action reports, network outage and failure report, maintenance schedule plans, and other reports as required.
  • Respond to urgent actions within 4 work hours and resolve them within 1 workday; respond to routine actions within 1 workday and resolve them within 2 workdays.
  • Utilize Government-provided network security and systems management (NSSM) tools (CA Spectrum, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, General Dynamix GEM-X, Sienna SiteManager, RTM SwitchExpert, Microsoft DHCP, Unique Cairs to manage and monitor the various data, video, and voice networks.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM)/Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) and Gigabit Ethernet Layer 3 switches and routers.
  • Provision, manage, and maintain Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, and OC3/12/48/192 and DS1/DS3 service over the DWDM/SONET.
  • Support and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on un-interruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution systems, and modular power supplies contained in switching rooms and communication shelters.
  • Install, maintain, and label equipment racks, backboards, shelves, and grounding straps. 
  • Install, configure, and maintain all network components based upon Government specifications outlined in the latest Installation Information Infrastructure Architecture (I3A) Design Guide, and in accordance with the best commercial practices. 
  • Monitor and respond to connectivity and performance trouble calls received from network users, and to alerts generated by various NSSM tools managed by the Government. 
  • Diagnose and resolve problems at the physical and data link layers (including Wireless, Ethernet, DWDM, and SONET) and common problems at the network (IP) layer. 
  • Identify problems at the transport, session, presentation, and application layers. 

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: BS Degree in Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • Experience: 8 years or more of relevant work experience.
  • Supervisory/Managerial Experience: 6-8 years’ experience commensurate with the position requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with government regulations, policies, and limitations within their scope of responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Possess a good understanding of DoD/Army Network Infrastructure to include Wireless, Cyber Security compliance and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Department of Defense 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II (Security+ CE or Cisco Certified Network Associate Security Certification)
  • Security Clearance: Secret

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or assigned to the DoD and/or U.S. Army.
  • Communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.
  • ITIL Certification
