By Light is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team providing Information Technology (IT) support services to the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) located at Fort Benning and remote locations Camp Merrill and Camp Rudder. The team will deliver comprehensive, integrated, end-to-end IT Systems Support services to include Network Systems Support, Computer Systems Support, Systems Engineering, Cyber Protection, Business Intelligence, IT Metrics Reporting and Quality Control.

  • Manage and supervise personnel providing Systems Engineering Support.
  • Complete and submit reports to the Government such as after-action reports, network outage and failure report, maintenance schedule plans, and other reports as required.
  • Assist the Government with engineering to support all assigned computer and network systems. 
  • Perform upgrades, as well as systemic and infrastructure additions, moves, or changes.
  • Utilizing standard programming languages, applicable application design standards and best business practices, perform systems administration, database builds, reorganizations, maintenance, tuning, backups and restorations, query design, application development, deployment and web master services in support of a wide array of applications and websites.
  • Performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex applications that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
  • Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E).
  • Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solution.
  • Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: BS Degree in Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • Experience: 8 years or more of relevant work experience.
  • Supervisory/Managerial Experience: 6-8 years’ experience commensurate with the position requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with government regulations, policies, and limitations within their scope of responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Possess a good understanding of DoD/Army Network Infrastructure to include Wireless, Cyber Security compliance and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Department of Defense 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level I (A+ or Network+ Certification).
  • Security Clearance: Secret

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or assigned to the DoD and/or U.S. Army.
  • Communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.
  • ITIL Certification
