Overview

By Light is hiring a professional Training Coordinator to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of our client training programs. The Training Coordinator manages all logistical and administrative work needed to ensure instructor-led and online training programs run successfully. The Coordinator ensures that the trainers, participants, facility, training materials, equipment are prepared and in place and ready for training.

 

By Light is an IT products and services firm specializing in software development, satellite/terrestrial communications, cyber security, and network engineering/design. Headquartered in Arlington, VA, we provide support worldwide to DOD, Federal Civilian, and Health IT customers.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include interacting with trainers and participants, emailing training pre-work and class reminders to participants, shipping training materials, coordinating training vendors and filing contracts, enrolling participants, scheduling courses and maintaining a training calendar, ensuring the proper set up and scheduling of training rooms, managing the Talent Management System (TMS), and gathering and analyzing course evaluation and attendance data.
  • Establish, manage and maintain in-house, and remote training schedules.
  • Work with user community to register and meet compliance for training.
  • Coordinate training plans, implement training programs (outsourced and in-house)
  • Assist with marketing to user community; provide relevant information to instructors and users.  
  • Distribute educational aids and materials; use tracking methods to ensure delivery.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on user skills.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts regarding course logistics.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Customer service expertise in multiple contractor-environments. 
  • 5+ years of experience in coordinating multiple training events in a corporate or government setting.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a Government background investigation for OPM NACI.
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
  • Ability to complete full training cycle, including: assess needs, plan, coordinate, track, monitor, evaluate, and report.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments with attention to details.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • BA or BS, or equivalent, in Education, Business desired
  • Active VA clearance preferred
