Overview

By Light is hiring a Graphic Visual Software Illustrator to join our team. This position provides graphic design and production support services in a Multimedia Production Support Team supporting a DoD organization. The role can be located in Fort Meade, MD or Fort Belvoir, VA.

 

By Light is an IT products and services firm specializing in software development, satellite/terrestrial communications, cyber security, and network engineering/design. Headquartered in Arlington, VA, we provide support worldwide to DOD, Federal Civilian, and Health IT customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site graphic support primarily at main customer site location; provides occasional alternate or satellite site support and/or travel as needed.
  • Provides on-site support primarily during standard business hours and/or contractually mandated core hours from 0600-1800 hours, Monday through Friday; provides occasional support outside of core hours or on weekends as needed.
  • Responsible for responding to requests for graphic services production support.
  • Responsible for graphic data management including maintaining data and system integrity, cataloguing image files, sustaining network stored digital production files for maintaining existing archives for retrieval.
  • Responsible for graphics service production administrative support including monitoring schedule, assigning, managing and tracking status of work order request; deconflicts and resolves scheduling. issues; establishing archival hardcopy continuity books.
  • Responsible for extraordinary operations planning support including participating in high visibility and Continuity of Operations (COOP) events requiring graphic support; attending planning meetings, training and after-action reviews; providing detailed meeting minutes.
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly equipment and system trouble-shooting and operations checks and services; secures office and equipment as required.
  • Responsible for the generation of and compliance with customer organization and contractual recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements; nonrecurring and special reports; adheres to metrics capture process and procedures, quality control and assurance processes and procedures; performs other tasks as assigned and demonstrate proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: BA/BS in Information Technology Field or 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum Experience: 5-8 years relevant experience
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI Eligible
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Software: InDesign, Photoshop Illustrator, Bridge Lightroom, InCopy, Acrobat ProXI.
  • Proficient in AutoDesk Maya3D.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Publisher, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in operation of Graphic Production Equipment including Large format laminators, Large format printers, computerized engraver and computerized mat cutters.
  • Familiar with AR 25-1 and DoD Pam 25-91.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or assigned to the DoD and /or U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command.
  • Has the communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.
