    The Program Director will be responsible for the operational success of a DISA Systems Engineering Task Order ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. In this role, the Program Director will manage a staff of over 50 skilled personnel. The project scope will include turnkey system engineering and testing for IP, optical transport, IA (crypto) and satellite.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership:

    • Cultivate existing relationships with team, subcontractors and OEM vendors with the goal of ensuring sufficient technical knowledge and skilled resources.
    • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas.
    • Lead the development of a Product Road Map to introduce new features and services supporting the customer’s goals.

    Team Management and Development:

    • Develop and implement a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff.
    • Implement a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps.
    • Work with staff to develop objective performance measurements across all sites, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all employees.
    • Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organization performance standards.
    • Recruit, hire, and oversee training and orientation of all staff members.

    Program Operational Management:

    • Using the project Performance Work Statement (PWS), establish consistent objective program performance standards of accountability.
    • Negotiation of all contract changes and ensure that contracts are carefully reviewed with respect to cost and schedule impact.
    • Ensure that all deliverables are met and on time.
    • Ensure all subtasks are managed to stay within budget and on schedule.

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • 5 years of related experience managing and leading a team through all phases of the project management lifecycle for projects and activities across a variety of technologies.
    • 3 years of related experience supporting a DoD IT organization.
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • PMP Certification

    Preferred Experience/Qualifications

    • Experience in managing large technical programs
    • Telecommunications Engineering experience or background

    Special Requirements/Security Clearance

    • Secret Clearance Required, Top Secret Preferred

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to sit and work from desk for period over 3 hours.
      Ability to drive vehicle from office to customer premise to attend meetings and oversee staff.
