    The Information Systems Security Specialist Lead provides technical leadership for SATCOM information security activities to include all accreditation and certification of all systems.  The Information Systems Security Specialist Lead provides technical design, development and implementation of SATCOM system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as the IA security lead and responsible for oversight of SATCOM information technology and cyber security engineering issues and solutions. 
    • Provides and implements information security best practices, policies and technologies as needed to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and data. 
    • Leads accreditation and authorization of JCDSC systems and all the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation and artifacts meet the requirements for full Authorization to Operate (ATO)
    • Leads the security engineering, planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification activities for information systems. 
    • Ensure that the JCDSC continues to operate in accordance with Government directives, guidelines, and instructions, and that the Security Posture of the JCDSC systems, both classified and unclassified, are kept in conformance with the latest Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS).
    • Ensure that all security requirements are identified, tracked, and satisfied.
    • Deliver Sites Security Documentation Updates.

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • More than five years of experience working in the field of information systems security.
    • Current DOD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.
    • Candidates must posses one of the following:
      • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other scientific or technical discipline directly related to the labor category + five (5) years’ experience of which at least three (3) years must be specialized.
      • AA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other scientific or technical discipline directly related to the labor category + seven (7) years’ experience of which at least six (6) years must be specialized.
      • Relevant military training or one and one-half (1½) years of relevant military experience + an additional seven (7) years’ experience of which at least six (6) years must be specialized.
    • Experience with ISSO and IA processes.
    • Experience in preparing IA activities and RMF process.
    • Experience with IA related issues related to DoD network and system security design, development, delivery, integration, and testing.
    • Experience with leading IPT meetings and other working groups developing requirements.
    • Experience with DISA STIGs and IAVM Programs, eMASS and VMS.
    • Excellent communication, technical writing, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.

    Special Requirements/Security Clearance

    • Minimum SECRET Clearance required
