    The Network Systems Engineer Lead (Software) provides advanced hardware/ software support on all aspects of the JCDSC System and SDB operations and management. The Software Lead analyzes user requirements and statistics, participates in database design and performance evaluation reviews, implements, monitors, and reorganizes databases, codes, tests, implements, and maintains database architectures. The Lead has expertise in applications and databases that may be used in the development of satellite communications equipment, requirements development and operational software applications/ tools. Confers with SATCOM Lead Engineer and authorities to determine the hardware/software application requirements of the program. Analyzes problems within the program and makes recommendations based on input from the Government.

    • Entering and maintaining accurate the SATCOM requirements.
    • Manages requirements databases associated with SATCOM systems.
    • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements application and database code. 
    • Maintains and upgrades the JCDSC software products.
    • Develops hardware/software technology plans and roadmaps.
    • Oversee the JCDSC helpdesk ticketing system activities.
    • Perform Tier III system administration duties associated with the JCDSC Sites.
    • Acquire and install all the hardware, software, and related supplies.
    • Administer user accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Managing the unclassified Ticket Management system and, whenever necessary, implement measures to correct inefficiencies encountered.

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • More than five years of experience
    • Current DOD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.
    • Candidates must possess one of the following:
      • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or technical discipline + five (5) years’ experience of which at least three (3) years must be specialized.
      • AA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or technical discipline + seven (7) years’ experience of which at least six (6) years must be specialized.
      • Relevant military training or one and one-half (1½) years of relevant military experience + additional seven (7) years’ experience of which at least six (6) years must be specialized.
    • Experience with preparing and coordinating technical documentation for senior level presentation
    • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills
    • High proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
    • High proficiency in database design and management, and Web Design
    • High proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (or above)
    • High proficiency in Programing Language: VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Extensible Markup Language (XML), SQL Server Report Builder, and Microsoft Access
    • High proficiency in Computer Network: Multi-Tier Architecture Design and Implementation
    • High proficiency in Technical Writing

    Special Requirements/Security Clearance

    • Minimum SECRET Clearance required
