    By Light is hiring a Lead Enterprise Architect to join our team supporting a DOD customer. The Architect will provide IT support services and technical expertise in a wide range of disciplines including systems analysis, systems design, systems development, application/database/systems administration, programming, software development, IT operations, configuration management, quality assurance, communications and DoDAF Architecture.

    • Apply engineering principles to develop strategies and methodologies to support the customer's net-centric logistics enterprise. 
    • Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
    • Defines project scope and objectives and develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
    • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
    • Leads a group of engineers, architects, and analysts and ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews enterprise architecture deliverables.
    • Provides technical and analytical guidance to enterprise architecture team.
    • Directs and participates in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development.
    • Applies high-level business and technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at creative engineering solutions.
    • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • Requires a BS Degree in Math, Engineering or a related field with 10 years general experience and at least five years specific experience
    • Requires a mastery of, and skill in applying, advanced professional scientific and engineering concepts, principles, practices, laws, regulations, methods and techniques.
    • Knowledge of the Army’s tactical communications and networking infrastructure, including Mission Command and Logistics SATCOM is required. 
    • The ability to create and/​or present briefings, including ability to clearly express ideas/​concepts and use Microsoft Office Tools (SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) as well as the knowledge of configuring SharePoint sites and programming SharePoint Nintex workflows are all required. 
    • Knowledge of the Army’s tactical maintenance processes, procedures and systems is required.

    Preferred Experience/Qualifications

    • Has a deep understanding of DoD business transformation and processes, DoD organizational structure, and experience in developing briefings and responses to GAO, OMB, and executives within the department.
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with the DoDAF, the Business Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Transition Plan, Service Oriented Architecture, and the Business Mission Area Federation Strategy and Roadmap.
    • Capability to operate in a dynamic multi-task environment. 
    • CISSP and PMP certifications or comparable experience is preferred.

    Special Requirements/Security Clearance

    • Active Secret security clearance required.
    • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential.
    • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

    Physical Demands

    • Requires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at HQs AMC facilities to discuss technical issues (10%).
    • Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks (80%).
    • Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at Redstone Arsenal facilities (10%).
