Overview

Is it time for a new and exciting job opportunity? Phacil, a By Light company, is seeking a Configuration and Asset Management Specialist to join our team supporting a DOD customer in Quantico, VA. This position will provide system configuration management support as well as manage the asset tracking for a Network Support Services project.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for

  • Managing COTS hardware (HW) and software (SW)
  • Manage a configuration management database (CMDB) of program assets of hardware and software
  • Manage the uploading of managed hardware and software assets in into a software tool such as Remedy or similar application
  • Gather requirements, design and implement assets from a manual tracking system such as excel into an asset management application such as Remedy
  • Present asset information to a customer, the status of an asset, the renewal period, where the asset is physically located, maintenance agreement information including having an understanding of the vendors service level agreements

 

Support includes but is not limited to:

  • Participate in design reviews, audits, and related activities
  • Record minutes and action items from program/project conducted Configuration Control Boards
  • Identify configuration management tools requirements and implements configuration management systems
  • Prepare and approve Configuration Management Plans
  • Perform other configuration management related duties and assignments as directed

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years relevant experience

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with additional IT and Programmatic certifications/experience, such as:

  • Security+ CE preferred. (Other applicable DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification suitable)
  • ITIL V3 Foundation
  • Microsoft Certification
  • Previous Tier 1 or 2 Service Desk experience or similar

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Secret or Interim Secret required to start.

Physical Demands

  • Physical ability to work near / around rack mounted equipment
  • Physical ability to read / verify serial number labels
