By Light Professional IT Services (By Light) is looking for motivated and qualified professionals the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC), Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center, Intelligence, and Information Warfare Directorate’s (I2WD) Operations Division Network Branch located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Requirements includes communication and systems support, information assurance, automation, computer network, telephone control, support for software development and integration, procurement and inventory support to the C5ISR Center and their tenant organizations.

  • Provide support in maintaining hardware and software, analyzing problems, and monitoring the network to ensure availability to system users.
  • Provides support in the planning, coordination, and implementation of network security measures.
  • Establish and maintain network, email, and internet/intranet access. 
  • Troubleshoots all system problems. 
  • Provide user training.
  • Participates in migrations and upgrades. 
  • Provide desktop, software, and peripheral support to include, operability of standard office automation desktop software in accordance with (IAW) current Army standards.
  • Provide the capability to electronically "push" software updates, security updates, vendor patches (service packs, service releases), information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVA's), etc. to end user devices.
  • Maintain accountability of C5ISR Center software licenses and life-cycle replacement documentation for software licenses, life-cycle replacement of end user devices to include computers, printers, laptops, scanners, and other hardware.
  • Perform hardware installation of end user devices to include computers, printers, laptops, scanners, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and other hardware.
  • Apply current operating system patches and security patches electronically or manually to meet Cybersecurity compliance.
  • Provide hardware and software support (i.e.  Hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance as well as software installation support) to application, file, and print services.
  • Provide system administration and operating system support (support to include troubleshooting, upkeep, configuration, and reliable operations of computer systems) for file, print; and common user application services.
  • Provide and install hardware, operating system, and software for file, print, and applications servers.
  • Install security (IAVA) patches on all servers and test and verify systems are not adversely affected by patches.
  • Create shared folders on a common server area to enable a group of employees to share and work on the same files.
  • Provide Microsoft Active Directory organizational unit (OU) administration and coordination with the local RNEC.
  • Ensure successful operation, maintenance, and administration/configuration of portable digital assistant (PDA) (e.g., iPhone/iPad), or mobility devices, prior to issuing to C5ISR Center customers.
  • Ensure personnel can attain and maintain access to: DISA Storefront, DISA Purebred, Verizon business portal, and the C5ISR Center’s Apple Business Manager account.
  • Ensure personnel can accurately and effectively track and maintain all mobility devices, to ensure C5ISR Center auditing compliance.
  • Configure & STIG harden network printers & digital senders.
  • Perform DISA Mail provisioning tasks.
  • Perform required property accountability actions while performing any defined duties.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience: 5 Years
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or a AS/AA or two-year Tech School with 8 years of experience; or HS/GED with 10 years of experience; or a BA in a relevant technical area with 5 years of experience.
  • Certifications: Security+; HBSS; and MCP.
  • Experienced with the design, installation, configuration, and support of agency's LAN system.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Supported the U.S. Army or other Federal Agency.
  • Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.
