Overview

By Light in conjunction with ACS is hiring a Software Architect to work in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Architect you will use your knowledge of Software Architecture and Software Development to design and develop Software for Government Health Research Domain. You will provide leadership and work with Software Developers, Business Analysts, Systems Engineers, DBA’s and Quality Assurance to develop high quality software.

  • Work with other members in the team in order to determine needs for new software, platforms and applications
  • Utilize tools, technology and various methodologies to create functional and intuitive solutions for user interfaces of desired products
  • Develop and implement product specifications and Change Requests
  • Pay attention to system integration, sustainability and feasibility
  • Be responsible for all phases of technology development
  • Suggest and implement solutions for process improvement
  • Adhere to all the requirements and guidelines for quality, security, extensibility etc. in Federal Government environment
  • Mentor junior software developers on design patterns, development best practices and SecDevOps trade-offs
  • Understand emerging web and cloud development models

Required Experience/Qualifications

  •  Expert level Java Programming expertise with at least 10 years of full time Java development.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • IBM Cognos 11.x development experience preferred.
  • SharePoint development and administration experience preferred.
  • Delphi development experience preferred.
  • Red Hat Linux v7.1 and Windows development experience preferred.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

Must be able to Obtain a VA Public Trust.
