The Senior Network Engineer is a key position and holds a great deal of responsibility for the oversight and smooth functioning of the networks. They will provide and maintain specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. The engineer conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. This position is the de facto authority and must maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing devices such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, and other security appliances.

LEADERSHIP:

• Assist with design and implementation of Security tools, (SEIM, IDS/IPS, Behavioral Analyses)
• Mentor team members and provide training on Networking technologies
• Design and document processes, procedures, and reporting to ensure our customer environment is operating efficiently and in line with best practices
• Lead and participate in network related projects and customer interactions
• Identify and become proficient at emerging technologies in the UC field
• Participate in interviewing future team members

OPERATIONS:

• Collaborate across teams to ensure transparent delivery of all services
• Scope and implement effective monitoring of network infrastructure
• Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Troubleshoot, remediate, and perform root cause analysis on network incidents
• Document and perform patching and upgrades on network infrastructure
• Provide “on-call” support for off-hours incidents and patching
• Provide meaningful updates to customers and accurately maintain Incident, request, problem and change tickets
• Create network reports with proactive findings and recommendations for improvement
• Other responsibilities as requested

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology management or technical discipline or commensurate experience
• Relevant certifications strongly preferred: Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Security or Routing & Switch
• 10+ years in a technical field, 5+ years focused on networking
• Experience configuring and supporting SD WAN Solutions
• Network Automation (Ansible, Python, etc.) a plus.
• Experience with engineering standards, design, and maintenance best practices for enterprise networks
• Experience performing upgrades on a wide array of network infrastructure
• Experience providing support and remediation for critical network outages
• Experience in 24x7x365 Managed Services organization preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of Network management and application analysis tools is required (NetScout, SolarWinds and Cisco Prime)
• Working knowledge Microsoft Office tools specifically, Excel, Word, Visio, and Project
• Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills

• CCNP Certification Preferred, but not required.
