Overview

Kwajalein Atoll is part of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) and located approximately 2,130 nautical miles west southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii. The major tenants are U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Reagan Test Site and United States Army Garrison – Kwajalein, an activity under the U.S. Army Installation Management Command. Other key tenants include National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Air Force, and Department of Energy. 

 

By Light is looking for personnel to deliver comprehensive, integrated, end-to-end Information Technology services, logistics support, and business operations support. Personnel will reside in Government housing, there are no privately-owned automobiles; bicycles or walking are the standard means of transportation; Department of Defense School System is available for kindergarten through 12th grade, a small base exchange and one grocery store is available; a hospital provides very limited outpatient services and limited emergency services. Morale and recreation activities range from SCUBA diving, snorkeling, fishing, surfing, boating, swimming, golf, and tennis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and management oversight of personnel supporting desktop support requirements as outlined below.
  • Install and configure approved-for-use common user desktop software on unclassified desktop systems.
  • Install approved-for-use desktop software on desktop systems residing on the SIPRNET.
  • Perform release management, to include commercial, standard A software, and new system releases.
  • Provide automated software updates, security updates, and vendor patches (such as service packs and service releases), to end user devices (including Government classroom computers) on the enterprise network.
  • Provide local touch labor services, to include installation, troubleshooting, and software updates; security updates; vendor patches (service packs, service releases), etc., when electronic application means do not exist.
  • Receive, test, tailor, publish, and advertise patch packages containing common user software updates, security updates, and vendor patches for push to unclassified end user devices.
  • Receive, test, tailor, publish, and advertise patch packages containing software updates, security updates and vendor patches for push to end user devices residing on the SIPRNET.
  • Assist customers with determining DoD-approved Enterprise hosting solutions for applications.
  • Configure authorized end user and network devices, to include computers, printers, laptops, scanners, and other hardware.
  • Configure bulk authorized end user and network devices, to include computers, printers, laptops, scanners, and other hardware (when request is for 15or more devices to replace existing operational devices).
  • Provide local touch labor services, to include installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Provide local touch labor, such as troubleshooting and repair, for Cyber Center and DISA assets.
  • Provide on-call support outside normal operating hours.
  • Provide Copier, Scanner, Printer, and Multi-Function Device (MFD) Management to include the evaluation of customer requests for network multi-function copiers, copiers, and printer placement recommendations.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree or 6 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience supporting desktop operations.
  • Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M, IAT II - COMPTIA Security+

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Supported the U.S. Army or other DoD/Federal Agency.
  • Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.
