The Test and Evaluation Lead works closely with other engineering functions through requirements, design, and development to develop and implement procedures for software testing. Designs and tests processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements. Implements test plans, automation, and validation strategies. Identifies and investigates issues found during testing to resolve defects. May develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation of a new PKI portfolio system by developing, testing, and analyzing results for proposed improvements.
  • Implements computer systems in a phased approach of requirements analysis and conceptual design, site survey, system design review, critical design review, installation, integration, and testing.
  • Conducts configuration management, integrating software, interpreting software test results, and recommending solutions for unsatisfactory test results.
  • Verify and validate the performance of various operational testing activities.
  • Perform load testing on all systems to assess the number of concurrent connections the system can withstand without failure.
  • Support the documenting of technical procedures and tracking of hardware and software.
  • Perform activities to assist in maintaining accurate system status and use statistics during test.  This may include the actual monitoring of system network management tools.
  • Document ongoing issues in bug-tracking software, such as Remedy and JIRA.
  • Prepare and deliver Change Requests (CRs) to reflect proposed baseline changes identified during development, operational testing, sustainment, and operations support to customers.
  • Deliver test plans and test reports as required.
  • Develop System Integration Tests for the combined system to be delivered to the customer.
  • Execute the System Integration Tests, document the results, and deliver a test report to the Customer.
  • Ensure the test automation scripts support the regression testing of existing software functionality during each sprint
  • Ensure existing automated scripts can be modified, improved, and enhanced to increase the confidence that regression test results accurately reflect legacy functional performance.
  • Demonstrate portability of test frameworks so that they can be used on multiple infrastructure platforms through configuration
  • Use in-depth knowledge of test automation to address technical policies and procedures throughout the program
  • Demonstrate understanding of testing at multiple levels (Unit, Integration, System, etc.), collaborating to build a comprehensive test strategy and implementation.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Must possess one of the following IAT Level III certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH.
  • 3+ years of experience in the automated testing of new systems and software. Must have worked in a government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing the testing and evaluation of new systems/software.
  • Experience working closely with customers to understand their requirements and concerns and then designing a test script and program to address both. Must also have experience gathering and presenting results to customer base as well as program engineers.
  • Strong communication skills – the ability to translate technical topics to non-technical audiences and the ability to provide analysis of complex issues in easily understood ways. Extensive experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are important.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and an ability to work with others through difficult situations.
