Overview

The Army Training Support Center (ATSC) is located at Fort Eustis, Virginia and responsible for managing the Army Training Support Enterprise (TSE) providing oversight for many programs that enable the development, delivery, and sustainment of Training and Education (T&E) support capabilities worldwide.  By Light is looking for candidates to provide Automation Technical Support (ATS) for mission related network components, computers, Software (SW), Video Teleconferencing (VTC) equipment, projectors, wiring, network equipment/SW, switches, Configuration Management (CM), servers, virtual environments and infrastructure, applications, and associated communications equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Trouble Calls and work orders by responding within 30 minutes when the network, mission production application, or server nodes/equipment is inoperable and within 1 hour for other problems.
  • Maintain the Local Area Network and associated peripherals for Army Training Support Command (ATSC)
  • Set up, install, and configure physical and virtual Linux Red Hat and Windows servers
  • Supports hardware servers and virtual machines running Red Hat Enterprise Linux and versions of Windows using VMWare.
  • Supports Oracle and SQL Server database servers, application servers, and webservers running IIS, Glassfish, WebLogic, Sun Application Server, and Apache.
  • Performs required security of servers and data - apply STIGS, ensure antivirus software is up to date and running, host intrusion detection, auditing, and logging.
  • Performs installation, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and maintaining servers, software, and operating systems.
  • Monitor servers for problems and performance issues.
  • Performs system and data backup and recovery.
  • Ensures system availability, functionality, and performance.
  • Maintains requirement configuration management documentation.
  • Supports Disaster Recovery Planning and implementation.
  • Assist with Hardware/Software upgrade proposals.
  • Supports user account management.
  • Performs patch management and IAVAs actions.
  • Configures web applications for users and troubleshooting possible web security issues.
  • Assist in identifying issues caused by Anti-Virus systems and Host Based Security Systems.
  • Performs troubleshooting of network issues.
  • Review system logs.
  • Works with systems in multiple subnet’s and VLAN’s.
  • Works with virtualized systems running in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure using VMware.
  • Troubleshoots systems using multiple protocols/services to include (DNS, TLS, SSL, TCP/IP, HTTP/S, IPv4, FTP) and all known ports.
  • Apply change and incident management using work order system.
  • Troubleshoot numerous network and computer issues to keep users connected to critical systems.
  • Respond to computer incidents on DoD unclassified networks.
  • Provide IT security information to users.
  • Assist identify issues caused by Anti-Virus systems and Host Based Security Systems.
  • Assists physical and IT security of systems.
  • Assists with quarterly STIGs implementations
  • Reviews and edits RMF documentation correlated with Linux systems

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience executing IT service and infrastructure support.
  • Baseline Certifications: Security+ (Upon Contract Start)
  • Computing Environment Certification: CompTIA Linux+ (Upon contract start can be waived to obtain within six months from contract start)

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Supported the U.S. Army or other DoD/Federal Agency.
  • Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.
