Overview

Without direct supervision, the Material Control Specialist II performs and may coordinate a variety of material control duties including receiving, shipping, stocking, picking, and related data entry.

Responsibilities

Typical Duties include but are not limited to the following.

  • Loading, off-loading, shipping, and receiving of materials, including large semi-trucks, UPS/FedEx pick-ups and deliveries, etc.
  • Verifying count and condition of materials
  • Processing transactions on a PC or handheld computer
  • Packing items for shipment
  • Coordinating with freight companies or supply vendors
  • Picking materials for Assembly
  • Performing cycle counts
  • Performing daily clean-up and recycling of materials
  • Operating powered and non-powered industrial equipment
  • May be asked to coordinating activities of coworkers or train new employees.
  • Performing other duties as directed

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Qualifies as an MC Specialist I, plus:
  • Three years of experience working in a warehouse performing 80% of the tasks listed above.
  • Experience with computerized ERP systems to perform warehouse functions.
  • Stand-up forklift (i.e., reach lift) experience.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends.
  • Some demonstrated leadership skills (as a lead, trainer, or coordinator).

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience working with government inventory,
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Pass an informal test on a reach lift.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time
