Overview

The Planner II, you will be responsible for schedules and coordinates the flow of work and materials to drive supply chain sources and within or between departments according to the production schedule. This critical role involves ensuring the efficient and timely production of our products, optimizing production processes, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with various teams to meet production goals. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve the day-to-day issues within Production Control and with other departments
  • Confer with department management to determine progress of work and completion dates
  • Provide updates on all programs to Management and report any issues that may impact production schedule
  • Place purchase requests
  • Work with the Purchasing Department to make sure that parts are ordered and arrive on time
  • Create Manufacturing Orders and monitor shortages
  • Provide updates at weekly program meetings; and
  • Perform other duties as directed

Required Experience/Qualifications

The following combination of education and years of experience in a Production environment:

    • Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ experience; or
    • Associate degree and four years’ experience; or
    • High School Diploma and six years’ experience. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Costpoint a plus as well as experience in a manufacturing environment in areas such as inventory, purchasing, expediting, electrical and/or mechanical assembly.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
