The Material Control Lead is responsible for the smooth, accurate, and timely performance of Material Control duties and tasks as assigned. The MC Lead will be able to coordinate/oversee the work in any section of the Material Control Department, while working in that area as well. These activities may be performed at an offsite location or on a non-standard shift.

Typical Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Training new employees.

   

• Loading, off-loading, shipping and receiving of materials, including large semi-trucks, UPS/FedEx pick-ups and deliveries, etc.

   

• Verifying count and condition of materials

   

• Processing transactions on a PC or handheld computer

   

• Packing items for shipment

   

• Coordinating with freight companies or supply vendors

   

• Pick materials for Assembly

   

• Inventory control: daily cycle counts, verifying inventory accuracy, researching and resolving discrepancies

   

• Operating powered and non-powered industrial equipment

   

• Flexibility to work overtime and on weekends if necessary

   

• Performing other duties as directed

• Minimum of 4 years of warehousing experience with at least one year of experience as a lead or coordinator of a small team.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the company.
• Experience with computerized ERP systems to perform warehouse functions.
• Stand-up forklift (i.e., reach lift) proficiency.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

• Experience working with government inventory,
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Moderate skills in MS Excel and Word.
• Previous Success with process improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to set and achieve goals.
• Experience contributing to an annual budget and operating within the budget framework.

• Pass an informal test on a reach lift.

• Must be able to lift 35 lbs
• Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time
