Position Overview

With minimal supervision, the Material Control Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties as listed below. This role involves driving a 26' box truck and requires a current driver's license (CDL not required), and forklift operation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Loading, off-loading, shipping, and receiving of materials, including large semi-trucks, UPS/FedEx pick-ups and deliveries, etc.
  • Verifying count and condition of materials
  • Processing transactions on a PC or handheld computer
  • Packing items for shipment
  • Coordinating with freight companies or supply vendors
  • Picking materials for Assembly
  • Performing cycle counts
  • Operating powered and non-powered industrial equipment
  • Performing deliveries utilizing By Light vehicles, including Sprinter van and 26’ box truck
  • Performing other duties as directed

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • One year of experience working in a warehouse.

  • Sit-down forklift experience.

  • Must have a current driver’s license (CDL not required)

  • Experience working as part of a team.

  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience with computerized ERP systems to perform warehouse functions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment,

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time
