The Production Planner schedules, and coordinates the flow of work and materials to drive supply chain sources within or between departments according to the production schedule.
Responsibilities
Resolve the day-to-day issues within Production Control and with other departments;
Confer with department management to determine progress of work and completion dates;
Provide updates on all programs to Management and report any issues that may impact production schedule;
Continuous improvement of processes and procedures;
Place purchase requests for inventory materials;
Create Manufacturing Orders and monitor shortages;
Provide buy item focus list for daily standup meetings;
Working with the Purchasing department to make sure that parts are ordered and arrive on time;
Perform other duties as directed;
Update outstanding part documentationwhen applicable.
Required Experience/Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or above;
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;
2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Must be a highly analytical thinker and problem solver;
Experience in production planning OR working experience of CostPoint.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
Experience as an planner in a manufacturing environment
Experience in a manufacturing environment in planning, scheduling, and reporting;
experience with ERP systems with an MRP focus (CostPoint a plus);
Working knowledge of CostPoint
Detail oriented and organized person
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for long periods; lifting up to 30 lbs
